About BifiLife

The Premium Probiotic

Since the Sixties of the 20th Century, the renowned Gabrichevskiy Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology has been isolating and analyzing human microbes on behalf of the Soviet Space Agency. In the Seventies, five strains of Bifidobacteria were successfully isolated and henceforth further developed, resulting in the break-through product that is since known as BifiLife.

In 1997, the Scientific Production Association Bifilife Ltd. in Moscow embarked on the commercial use of the new product. By now, BifiLife Ltd. is suppling more than 400 producers in the dairy industry alone in the CIS countries (former USSR). In many regions, for example all of Armenia, no fermented dairy products are found on the shelves that are not containing BifiLife, a Brand that usually appears more prominently on the labels than the product name itself. No marketing whatsoever has been undertaken to achieve up to 100% market coverage, an accomplishment which hence entirely based on spontaneous consumer’s preference.
Since 2019, BifiLife is accessible as component of dairy products and health foods in all of Europe.

Why BifiLife

Microflora in the digestive system

Numerous bacteria and other microorganisms, the so-called intestinal flora or general microflora, reside in the digestive system. These microorganisms are not only crucial for digestion and defence against pollutants, but before all for the health of the entire human organism.

Probiotics

The living microflora, commonly referred to as probiotics, enters the organism with food. These microorganisms survive the passage through the stomach, whose acidic environment kills most of the other bacteria. Probiotics supplement or replace the intestinal flora, both in terms of quality and quantity. Dairy products are particularly suitable for the intake of Probiotics, because they pass the stomach quite quickly, and the milk protects the microorganisms well against stomach acid.
From the large number of bacteria and other microorganisms in the intestinal flora, the health properties of only two probiotic groups are scientifically recognized: lactobacilli and bifidobacteria.
Most probiotics in the market contain exclusively or at least predominantly lactobacilli. They usually colonize the small intestine, but only temporarily, so they must be taken regularly. Almost all available products are of animal origin and in the fact that Bifidobacteria are host-specific, the effect on the human digestive system is low.

Bifidobacteria colonize the colon or large intestines, which is much more important for the health that the small intestines. They settle and breed in the colon for a long period. Bifidobacteria, different from lactobacilli, are harmless in any dosage. They improve the absorption of nutrients, the breakdown of fats, carbohydrates, proteins and minerals, strengthen the immune system, mitigate or prevent allergies, suppress carcinogenic substances, produce vital vitamins, and promote digestion and overall health in many ways.

Scientific Research

Five strains of bifidobacteria:

BifiLife differs fundamentally from any other probiotics currently on the market: For the first time ever, all five strains of bifidobacteria, which would naturally suppress and eliminate each other, are joined together in a symbiotic consortium, in fact even supporting each other’s health effects.

Bifidobacterium longum
This is the dominant Bifidobacterium, preventing and healing diarrheal diseases, for example as a result of antibiotic treatment. Bifidobacterium longum promotes the absorption of lactose and the fermentation of indigestible carbohydrates, helps to digest protein, suppresses pathogens and toxins, strengthens the immune system, prevents inflammation, and protects against carcinogenic substances. It helps to lower cholesterol levels and protects against seasonal allergies. It also plays a role in the prevention and alleviation of stress symptoms and, according to a Japanese study, also mitigates effects of aging.
Bifidobacterium infantis
Bifidobacterium infantis absorbs fructose, glucose and other natural carbohydrates. It is found especially in the digestive system of babies. It promotes digestion, increases resistance to infections and allergies, reduces intestinal discomfort, prevents kidney stones, and supports cancer treatment. It helps treat traveller’s diarrhoea and ulcerative colitis, and can alleviate the symptoms of lung infections in children.
Above all, however, Bifidobacterium infantis very quickly builds up the microflora that is crucial for new-borns, and thus also increases the health of premature babies.
Bifidobacterium bifidum
Bifidobacterium bifidum promotes the development of healthy intestinal bacteria from birth. It is particularly acid-resistant, combats enterocolitis and supports the development of the intestinal flora after chemotherapy. Bifidobacterium bifidum has been shown to support the treatment of lung and liver disease as well as diarrhoea. In addition, it reduces congestion and thwarts harmful pathogens by means of acidification. It increases the absorption of minerals and reduces ammonia and free phenols in the blood. It combats infections caused by Helicobacter pylori, which causes ulcers in the stomach and duodenum.
The colonization of the intestinal walls by Bifidobacterium bifidum and the stimulation of the immune system prevent the passage of toxins or pathogens into the blood and thus the onset of diseases and the impairment of cell functions.
Bifidobacterium breve
Bifidobacterium breve ferments sugar and produces acetic and lactic acid. The strain combats intestinal inflammation and streptococci that are resistant against antibiotics. It mitigates the effects of antibiotic treatments, restricts and suppresses Candida fungi and E. coli, stimulates the immune system and promotes digestion of otherwise indigestible plant fibres. In addition, Bifidobacterium breve helps prevent overweight, improves the skin condition and alleviates allergic reactions.
Bifidobacterium adolescentis
Bifidobacterium adolescentis, which is extremely rare on the market, breaks down cellulose and enhances protein hydrolysis and the fermentation of carbohydrates. The strain enhances immunity against pathogens such as Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, which can cause peritonitis, septicaemia, and wound infections. Bifidobacterium adolescentis combats viruses and cancer and mitigates diarrhoea in infants. Of particular importance is Bifidobacterium adolescentis as a producer of important vitamins such as B1, B2, B6, B9, B12 and C.
Effect

With combined power

The effects of BifiLife dramatically exceeds the sum of the effects of the stems in isolated form. Taking BifiLife virtually eliminates microbiological deficiencies in the digestive system. The strains multiply to the extent that the respective host organism requires them. This is especially important for babies and toddlers.

BifiLife is resistant to many antibiotics. By-products of the metabolism of bifidobacteria are involved in the regeneration of epithelial cells, accelerate the biosynthesis, increase protein metabolism and maintain intestinal peristalsis. BifiLife can protect against inflammation and prevent irritable bowel syndrome. In advanced cirrhosis, BifiLife can restore normal intestinal flora. The bacteria form a dense coating on the epithelial cells of the intestine, which impedes the attachment of pathogens and the absorption of toxins.

BifiLife combats pathogens
Among others, BifiLife combats the following pathogens: E. coli, Candida albicans, Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Citrobacter freundii and Bacillus subtilis. Bifidobacteria can also suppress cocci, dysentery bacilli (Shigella), typhoid fever (Salmonella spp.) and coliform bacteria.
BifiLife reduces the risk of cancer in the gut, for example by lowering the level of various colon enzymes, under the influence of which pro-carcinogenic molecules are converted into carcinogens (such as nitrosamines and secondary bile salts).
BifiLife stabilizes the body weight
The network of interconnected nerve cells in the colon, sometimes referred to as the “second brain,” plays a key role in food intake and digestion. BifiLife contributes to the balance of these nerve signals and thus stabilizes the body weight.
BifiLife strengthens the immune system
Bifidobacteria interact closely with the epithelial cells of the intestine. By stimulating the proliferation of B lymphocytes that produce immunoglobulins (antibodies) and T lymphocytes, which are responsible for cellular immunity, they improve the overall immune status of the consumer. In addition, BifiLife produces a variety of substances in the body that combat infections, including lactic acid (Acidum lacticum) protecting the intestinal mucosa and relieve the liver, acetic acid (Acidum aceticum), lowering the pH of the intestinal contents and fighting pathogens and putrefactive organisms. The biotransformation of bile salts to bile acids by bifidobacteria can contribute to fight bacteria.
The most complex antimicrobial agents produced by bifidobacteria are bacteriocins and bacteriocin-like substances that have antibacterial properties and can destroy putrefactive, pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms. These bacteriocins are heat stable, survive under acid pH and can suppress enterobacteria, Vibrio, streptococci and staphylococci.
BifiLife produces vital vitamins
  • B1 (thiamine – for nerves and the brain, also important for cancer treatment);
  • B2 (riboflavin – for energy, also important for the development of embryos);
  • B3 (niacin – against cholesterol, sun damage, pellagra, also promotes brain functions);
  • B5 (pantothenic acid – hormone balance, wound healing, liver, skin, blood, glucose);
  • B6 (pyridoxine – for brain performance and skin – more than 100 enzyme reactions);
  • B7 (Biotin – important in pregnancy, for nerves, brain, and eyes)
  • B9 (folic acid – for red blood cells, DNA and RNA; promotes cell division, protects foetuses);
  • B12 (cobalamin – for heart, nerve cells, against dementia, also protects babies);
  • C (ascorbic acid);
  • Vit. K2 (Menaquinone – bone formation, blood clotting, conversion of vit. K1).
Other proven effects of BifiLife
  • BifiLife reduces “bad cholesterol”: It blocks an enzyme involved in the synthesis of triglycerides. This reduces the production of low density lipoprotein (LDL, “bad cholesterol”) and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL).
  • BifiLife utilizes amino acids such as valine, methionine, alanine, arginine, isoleucine and glycine.
  • BifiLife has a pronounced antioxidant effect.
  • Bifilife regulates the absorption of iron, calcium and vitamin D.
  • Bifidobacteria strengthen bones.
  • BifiLife stabilizes blood sugar.
  • Bifilife can reduce stress, and increase mental capacity.
  • BifiLife can normalize and stabilize hormonal activities.
  • BifiLife reduces the risk of becoming diabetic.
  • Permanent BifiLife colonies increase the energy level.
  • BifiLife improves the heart and blood circulation.
  • Bifilife facilitates weight control.
  • Positive effects on respiratory, urinary and vaginal, respiratory and oral health were observed. In some cases, significant improvements in skin diseases such as acne, psoriasis and eczema after taking BifiLife could be observed.
  • Recent studies in AIDS patients on the effects of BifiLife in yoghurt have shown positive effects for the immune system, endurance, and also properties against diarrhoea and fever.

Markets

Evidently, BifiLife enriched foods have tremendous competitive advantages.

In present areas of distribution, BifiLife became the leading product in individual market segments, without any branding or advertising efforts. Besides dairy products, baby foods, health foods, and pharmaceutical application show the greatest promises.

The following products are very suitable for BifiLife:

  • Dairy products
  • Baby food
  • Dietary Supplements

Recommended dosages and production capacities
For fermented milk products, the manufacturer recommends a dosage of 16 grams of BifiLife per 1,000 kilograms of product. For cottage cheese, manufacturers use 16 grams of BifiLife at 800 kilograms.

Product Samples
For interested producers, we offer samples (official cfu1010, but higher in practice) for testing purposes. It should be noted that the reproduction of the different strains in the growth medium is not synchronous, so that irregular distribution of strains may be observed at times. The consortium then optimizes the proportion in the individual consumer’s organism.
The superiority of the beneficial properties of Bifilife is evident and has been independently demonstrated.
